Pakistan's Mustafa bags four silver medals in Commonwealth Powerlifting Championship

The national power lifter won two gold medals at the Asian Powerlifting Championship 2019.

AUCKLAND: Pakistan's Mustafa Faran Baig shined in the Commonwealth Powerlifting Championship by winning four silver medals.

Mustafa won the silver medal in the 110 kg junior class after lifting a total of 640 kg. The national athlete also claimed silver medals in squats, bench press, and deadlifts, winning a total of four silver medals in the event.

He lifted 250kg in squats, 135kg in the bench press, and 255kg in the deadlift.

Meanwhile, Dillon Morgan of Wales won the gold medal.

It must be noted here that Mustafa also won two gold medals at the Asian Powerlifting Championship in 2019.

Earlier in August this year, Pakistan bagged eight medals in Commonwealth Games 2022.

Arshad Nadeem (Javelin Throw) and Nooh Dastagir Butt (Weightlifting) won Gold medals, Inam Butt (Wrestling), Zaman Anwar (Wrestling), and Mohammad Sharif Tahir (Wrestling) bagged Silver medals, whereas Inayatullah (Wrestler), Ali Asad (Wrestler) Hussain Shah (Judo) got their hands on Bronze medals.
