Three national athletes defeated their Indian opponents to secure gold medals

Pakistan has secured seven gold medals so far in the South Asian Karate Championship — Provided by Reporter

COLOMBO: Pakistani athletes shined in the 6th South Asian Cadet, Junior, U-21, and Senior Karate Championship, which is being held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The national athletes made the whole country proud by winning seven gold medals so far in the South Asian event.

Pakistan's Arzoo won the gold medal after beating India's Sham Baveer in the junior's 59 kg plus category, taking the team's tally to sixth.

Meanwhile, Pakistan secured their seventh gold medal in the event after Mubarak Ali beat his Indian foe in the minus 84kg G class.

Moreover, Irshad Ali also clinched a gold medal in the U-21 category as he beat his Indian opponent to claim the honour.

Overall, Pakistan secured seven gold medals, 11 silver medals and eight bronze medals.

Earlier in August, Pakistan bagged eight medals in Commonwealth Games 2022.

Arshad Nadeem (Javelin Throw) and Nooh Dastagir Butt (Weightlifting) won Gold medals, Inam Butt (Wrestling), Zaman Anwar (Wrestling), and Mohammad Sharif Tahir (Wrestling) bagged Silver medals, whereas Inayatullah (Wrestler), Ali Asad (Wrestler) Hussain Shah (Judo) got their hands on Bronze medals.
