QATAR: Kylian Mbappe scored twice to help the defending champions France beat Denmark 2-1 to qualify for the Round of 16 in FIFA World Cup 2022 here today. 

Mbappe was on song throughout as France enjoyed a convincing spot in last 16 of the mega event. 

In a hard-fought contest, Denmark put efforts to score a second equalizer but they failed to do so. 

Mbappe took a 1-0 lead for France in 61st minute but Denmark was quick enough to make it 1-1 thanks to Andreas Christensen who was issued a yellow card. 

In 86th minute, Mbappe made room once again to net the ball and it turned out to be a match-winning goal for France. 

The holders are the first team into the knockout round in Qatar and the young striker Mbappe was again the hero.

France will now meet Tunisia in their last group game on November 30.
