QATAR: Saudi Arabia failed to continue their winning streak after they missed easy chances against Poland to bear the first loss in FIFA World Cup 2022 here today. 

After the famous win over Argentina in the tournament's opener, Saudi Arabia forced fans to raise their hopes high for knockout stage qualification. 

However, Robert Lewandowski's Poland shattered their hopes by defeating Saudi Arabia 2-0 in the mega event. 

Under pressure Poland after a draw against Mexico in the first match, leaked a few chances to Saudi Arabia but managed to tick the winning box finally. 

Piotr Zieliński scored the first field goal in the 39th minute, creating a brilliant chance to deceive Saudi defenders at the forefront. 

Thereafter, Saudi's Salem Aldawsari missed a penalty that must have hurt their millions of fans. With a lead of 1-0 at half-time, Poland must be relieved, meanwhile, all pressure was on Saudi Arabia. 

Coming back from the break, the two teams created few chances but failed to give it a clean finish. 

Lewandowski, in the 82nd minute, finally got a chance to score his first goal in the World Cup. The clever striker snatched the ball just outside D and scored a convincing goal to take 2-0 lead for Poland. 

Saudi Arabia will face Mexico in their last game on December 1. Poland will face Argentina in the last game on the same day.
