Pakistan bowling coach Azhar Mahmood thanked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for "a tremendous journey", as the board announced on Wednesday, to part ways with the coaching staff.

Despite the decision, the former cricketer tweeted a respectful message in which he "wish them the very best"and expressed that he "looks forward to moving on".

While the bowling coach took the news well, it seemed otherwise for head coach Mickey Arthur who was "disappointed and hurt" to learn that he would be parting ways with Pakistan cricket.

Following a review with the Cricket Committee last Friday, the PCB had unanimously agreed upon the decision to revamp the coaching staff. This meant that the board would no longer renew the contracts of the head coach and bowling coach as well as batting coach Grant Flower and trainer Grant Luden.
