ISLAMABAD: Left-handed batter Saud Shakeel is hopeful to give a good performance against England if given chance in the three-match Test series, scheduled to begin at the Pindi Stadium on December one.

Saud, who has remained a part of Pakistan's Test squad for quite a while now, is one of the national team's retainers for the home series. This year at Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Saud scored three centuries.

In an exclusive interview with geo.tv, he said: "The goal is to give better performance whenever there is an opportunity for me to debut. I play cricket at every level, and the goal is always to help the team win."

Saud said he is excited about the home series as a full-strength English team will be touring Pakistan.

The all-rounder also heaped praise on skipper Babar Azam and veteran Test batter Azhar Ali and said there is an opportunity to learn from the two batters.

"Babar Azam is a world-class player, you get a chance to learn from him. Azhar Ali played 96 Test matches, there is an opportunity to learn from his experience," he added.

The left-arm spinner also revealed his favourite batter in world cricket.

"I have always liked Kumar Sangakkara among the batsmen. Sangakkara plays very beautifully, and his class is different," he concluded.

As per the current schedule, England is set to arrive in Islamabad on November 27. The English team is scheduled to play three Tests; first in Rawalpindi from December 1-5, second in Multan from December 9-13 and last in Karachi from December 17-21.
