FIFA World Cup: Saudi Arabia gather immense praise for upset victory against Argentina

QATAR: Saudi Arabia shocked the football world when they pulled off an upset victory over Argentina in FIFA World Cup 2022 here on Tuesday. 

The men in green's defence was on song as Argentina's 36-match unbeaten run came to an end. 

Lionel Messi's side faced an embarrassing defeat at the start of the world's biggest football event. 

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia's fans celebrated the victory to the fullest. Across the streets, Saudi fans danced and cheered for their team's magnificent start to the FIFA World world cup 2022. 

On Twitter, the world congratulated Saudi Arabia and wishes them best of luck for the upcoming matches. 

Unlike expectations, Saudi Arabia's defending line was strong enough to give their fans an emotional victory. 

Saleh Alshehri and Salem Aldawsari struck surprising goals to take Saudi Arabia on top.

Alshehri, in 48th minute, made the most of an opportunity to score an equaliser. Just five minutes later, Aldawsari stunned with a goal from inches inside the D.

Aldawsari did a stunt to celebrate his goal and it showed what it meant to them. 

Saudi Arabia will now take on Poland on November 26.
