KARACHI: Belgium winger Eden Hazard has said the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022 will change his situation at Real Madrid.

After making a name for himself at Chelsea where he scored 85 goals and provided 54 assists in 245 appearances, Hazard moved joined Los Blancos in 2019.

Since then, the 31-year-old has not been up to his best as he has only managed to bag 7 goals in 72 matches.

However, Belgium forward has said that he wants to show the manager that he deserves to play more.

"I don't want to leave Real Madrid. Maybe my situation will change after the World Cup," Hazard said in a press conference ahead of the World Cup.

"I want to play but it's the manager who makes his choices. I accept, but I want to show him that I deserve to play more. When you don't play it's difficult".

Belgium lost 1-0 to eventual champion France in the World Cup semi-finals of 2018 and suffered a similar loss to Argentina in the quarter-finals of 2014.

On November 23, they take on Canada to start their campaign. After that, in Group F, they take on Morocco and Croatia.
