KARACHI: Jake Paul and UFC superstar Anderson Silva will now establish a fighters union after the YouTuber-turned-fighter won their bet.

When Paul met UFC superstar Silva in the Desert Diamond Arena in Arizona, he faced the greatest test of his career. However, Paul put on an electrifying performance to earn his sixth straight professional victory, knocking out his rival on route to a convincing unanimous decision triumph.

Before the bout, the two men shook hands and agreed to a wager that, if Paul lost the initial boxing match, he would face Silva in either kickboxing or MMA. The 25-year-old will now be able to enforce his part of the wager, and Silva will team up with him to create a fighters union as a result of his significant victory.

Since Paul has strong opinions about how fighters are treated in the organisation, the two will certainly target the UFC in their association for fighters' battle for better healthcare and wages. After the fight, Silva made it known that he was excited to be a part of the initiative.

"It's a unit for help and doing something better for MMA fighters. And I think Jake and I can do something huge to help this new generation," Silva remarked while outlining the circumstances of his failed wager after falling to Paul.

After deciding to stay out of the MMA world, for the time being, Paul suggested a plan before the fight that may very well lead to the organization's growth in the upcoming year. However, the union will be the first attempt since Georges St. Pierre and Cain Velasquez, two former UFC champions, attempted to launch a comparable enterprise in 2016.
