KARACHI: Just days after Dana White announced that Conor McGregor's comeback would be postponed, the 34-year-old has dropped another spot in the UFC lightweight rankings.

The Irishman hasn't played since breaking his leg in a defeat against his arch-rival Dustin Poirier in July last year. McGregor has been adhering to a rigorous rehabilitation regimen, which has seen him gradually increase his training to make a comeback and relaunch his UFC career next year.

McGregor's return to the UFC has been postponed for at least another six months, UFC president Dana White announced on Saturday. Before participating, athletes must join the USADA testing pool. The Irishman's ranking now seems to have paid the price, as McGregor dropped one spot to number 13th in the official rankings, trailing Dan Hooker.

McGregor hasn't won at 155 pounds since his 2016 fight with Eddie Alvarez to become a two-weight champion, which caused him to fall out of the top 10 earlier this year. Since then, he had only had one victory, which came at 170 pounds when he defeated Donald Cerrone in a rematch after losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov two years earlier.

Following his confirmation that he will likely fight again at 170 pounds after his latest weight gain, McGregor is unlikely to compete at lightweight again.
