'The Champions League is too complicated now' - these words came as post-match comments from Barcelona's coach Xavi after his team dropped crucial points against Inter Milan at home.

The team was welcomed at the home ground following a huge crowd outside as the tickets for a must-win game were already sold out. But, the crowd was left disappointed.

After holding a 3-3 draw against Inter Milan on Wednesday, Barcelona's hopes to qualify for knockout round have now almost dried out. Robert Lewandowski managed to tie the scoreline with two goals towards the end of the game.

With only four points in four matches, the odds are not in the Catalans' favour in qualifying for the knockout stage. Almost an exceptional situation for Barcelona's qualification if  Inter Milan drop points against Bayern and Plzen and Barcelona manage to win both finals against the same teams in the group stage.

If Barcelona end up in the third spot, they will be playing in the Europa League for the second season consecutively. Last season they managed to reach the quarter-final, where their run was ended by defeat to Frankfurt.

Xavi demanded his team's focus on La Liga now. Unlike last season, Barcelona undeniably have a strong squad currently but their aim to lift the La Liga trophy will be hindered if they struggle to net goals. Their defence in the Spanish league has proved to be strong, conceding very few goals in Laliga this season with Robert Lewandowski as the top goal scorer with nine goals so far. But their latest defeat to Real Madrid in the league have pulled them down three points and concluded an unpleasant week for the Blaugrana.
