PJL: Haseeb, bowlers star as Mardan beat Hyderabad

LAHORE: Haseeb Khan and bowlers starred as Mardan Warriors beat Hyderabad Hunters by four wickets in the 10th match of the ongoing Pakistan Junior League (PJL) here at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on Thursday.

The Hunters won the toss and elected to bat first, which the Warriors took advantage of and restricted the Hunters to 128 runs before chasing down the target in 19.2 overs.

Haseeb was sensational as he smashed 49 runs in 39 balls including five boundaries and one maximum.

Opener George Thomas couldn't deliver with the bat as he was bowled out by Ali Naseer, while his partner, Shahzaib Khan played a vital 33-run knock to chase down the target.

Wicket-keeper batter Daud Nazar also scored 23 runs in 14 balls.

For Hunters, Naseer claimed two wickets, while Aftab Ibrahim, Mohammad Zubair Jr, and Muneeb Wasif secured a scalp each.

Earlier, Ali Naseer helped the Hunters a paltry 128 runs on the scoreboard.

Naseer was exceptional with the bat as he smashed 54 runs in 37 balls. Openers, Saad Baig and Afaq Khan were sent back to the pavilion without scoring any runs.

Arbaz Khan gathered 22 runs, while Muneeb Wasif bagged 17 runs.

For Warriors, Aimal Khan and Muhammad Nabeel claimed two scalps each, while Archie Lenham took a wicket.
