Pakistan football team to tour Nepal in November

Pakistan will play an international match for the first time after the World Cup Qualifiers in 2019

LAHORE: The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) announced on Thursday that the national football team will tour Nepal for friendly matches in November.

According to the PFF, the squad for the tour will be announced soon. Pakistan team will play an international match for the first time after the World Cup Qualifiers in 2019.

Based on performance and fitness, 36 national players were shortlisted. The training of the selected footballers continued for six weeks in Lahore.

The players have been called again on November 3 for the second phase.

Head coach Shahzad Anwar said that the players have been trying to adapt themselves to the international requirements by showing full interest in training since the first day.

"Each footballer's data has also been compiled using advanced technology. The players have also benefited from the experience of Brazilian physical trainer Rodrigo Estevez and goalkeeping coach Marcelo Costa. FIFA's designated normalization committee is providing all possible facilities. Everyone is eagerly waiting for the international matches," he added.
