Ireland's Graham Hume replaces injured Craig Young for T20 World Cup 2022

KARACHI: Ireland Cricket has called up Graham Hume to their squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 after pacer Craig Young's injury ruled him out of the mega event.

According to Cricket Ireland's medical chief Mark Rausa, Young had "experienced a recurrence of a chronic issue which we have been managing".

"Whilst we thought we were on top of the issue, it sadly flared up once we arrived in Sydney," he added.

Ireland begins their campaign against Zimbabwe on Sunday, 17 October.

Hume played in his first Twenty20 match against Afghanistan a month after making his debut in July one-day match against New Zealand one-day match against New Zealand in July.

Next up for Ireland is a match against Namibia in Melbourne on Tuesday, followed by a contest against Sri Lanka two days later.
