KARACHI: Pakistan BodyBuilding Federation (PBBF) selected nine bodybuilders from open trials, that were held here on Saturday, for 13th World Bodybuilding Championship.

As many as 100 bodybuilders from across the country registered for open trials. Under the supervision of PBBF's secretary Sohail Anwar and Datuk Paul Chua (President - World and Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation), the bodybuilders posed for selection.

Nine bodybuilders in different categories were selected. They will represent Pakistan in the upcoming World Championship which will take place in Thailand in December this year.

On the sidelines of trials, PBBF's secretary Sohail told GeoSuper.tv about their plans for participation in the world event.

"We have selected players purely on merit and you can check each and every detail," said Sohail. "Our aim was to pick up the best possible players who can win medals for us," he added.

Sohail and his team recently participated in the Asian Bodybuilding Championship in the Maldives.

"We recently participated in Asian championship on our own expenses. Once again, we are taking a step for Pakistan, but this time, we want support from the government," he lamented.

"If government doesn't support us, bodybuilding will unfortunately die in Pakistan," he concluded.
