LAHORE: Arafat Minhas showed an all-round performance to help Gawadar Sharks beat Rawalpindi Raiders by 34 runs to start Pakistan Junior League (PJL) on a winning note.

In third PJL match here at Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday, Arafat showed his class as young all-rounder who represented Southern Punjab (SP) recently in National U19 Cup.

After a worthy contribution of 40 runs with the bat in Sharks' 150-5, Arafat took two wickets for 22 runs to help his team restrict Raiders to 116 while chasing.

Arafat stolen the show for Sharks who got backed by their mentor, the great Sir Vivian Richards.

Luc Benkenstein, an Essex all-rounder, partnered with Arafat to support Sharks. Luc scored 33 off 25 balls and also took two wickets.

While chasing 151 runs, Rawalpindi failed to consolidate with their batting as they were bowled out for 116 runs in 19 overs.

Asser Mughal top-scored with 26, while Wahaj Riaz scored 23.
