KARACHI: Hassan Ali was highly impressed by his friend and teammate Shadab Khan after his jawsome batting against New Zealand in T20I tri-series.
After Shadab's match-winning knock, Islamabad United's manager Rehan ul Haq gave credit to their captain for promoting himself in batting during PSL.
"No bro. For the record, we did promote him a few times in PSL 3 & 4 but the idea of a long-term strategy for him to play in the top 4 was his. So complete credit to him. He said give me 3-4 inns, we will change if it doesn’t work but it worked in PSL 5. In PSL 7 we saw his best," Rehan responded to one of his followers.
In reply, witty Hassan wished to bat at number 5 in next PSL. "Next year mai number 5 Pa batting kro gaa [Next year, I will bat at number 5]," the pacer replied.
Hassan is quite familiar for his power-hitting abilities. He often finished matches by hitting sixes. In 2020-21 domestic season, he led Central Punjab to the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy victory by scoring his maiden hundred.
