PAK vs NZ: 'Middle-order needs to step up, perform well,' says Babar Azam

CHRISTCHURCH: Pakistan skipper Babar Azam said that the national team's middle order needs to perform well in the ongoing tri-nation series.

In a pre-match talk at the toss, after being asked what the Men in Green are trying to improve on, Babar said: "The middle-order needs to step up and perform well."

Pakistan's middle order has been under fire for not performing well in the T20 Asia Cup 2022 and the home series against England.

The middle-order also failed in the opening match of the tri-nation series against Bangladesh on Friday. Only Iftikhar Ahmed could cross the two-figure mark.

It is worth mentioning here that the hosts' New Zealand have won the toss and opted to bat first against Pakistan in their tri-nation series opener.
