'Babar Azam is not T20 opener' opines Aqib Javed

LAHORE: Former Pakistan fast bowler Aqib Javed thinks that Babar Azam is not suitable to open in the T20 format. 

In his latest interview on a YouTube channel, Aqib took a dig at Babar's batting as an opener. 

"Babar is not suitable to open in T20 format," the former cricketer said.

While giving an example of former Indian skipper Virat Kohli, Aqib said Babar at number 4. 

"He should come at number 4 and prove himself a big player. Take the example of Virat Kohli. He scored as many runs as Babar while playing at number 4. This position is very key and your best batter should play in it. In Australia, Babar should come at number 4 and win matches for Pakistan," he explained. 

Babar and Mohammad Rizwan have remained Pakistan's all-time successful T20I opening pair. 

Meanwhile, Aqib shared Pakistan's batting order according to his experience. "Fakhar should open with Rizwan with Shan Masood coming at number 3. Shan has a good technique and he will be worthy in Australian condition. At number 4, Babar should come and play his role as a match-winner," Aqib opined. 

"If you want to win T20 World Cup, then make some brave decisions," the cricketer-turned-analyst advised team.
