KARAHI: Pakistan's star batter Mohammad Rizwan continued his hold in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) T20I rankings.

On regular Wednesday rankings update, Rizwan retained his first position. However, Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav continues to give tough time to Rizwan while being in second position.

With an impressive total of 316 runs in the recent seven-match T20I series against England, Rizwan finished as the series' top run scorer. The veteran was rested for the sixth game of the series and managed just one run in the series finale in Lahore, causing the right-hander to lose important breathing room at the top of the rankings.

After concluding India's recent T20I series at home against South Africa with two half-centuries and being highest run scorer with a total of 119 runs, Yadav maintained his astounding climb in 2022.

Due to his performance, Yadav is only 16 rating points behind Rizwan.

As both Pakistan and India are among the favorites to win the eighth edition of the T20 World Cup in Australia, the battle between the two batters will continue throughout the mega event.
