KARACHI: West Indies' batter Shimron Hetmyer missed a rescheduled flight to Australia for T20I series and T20 World Cup.

According to the reports, Hetmyer told Windies Cricket that he will not be able to fly to Australia on October 1 due to family reasons.

At his request, the West Indies Board rescheduled his flight for October 3. Hetmyer was supposed to take flight on Monday [October 3] and join the remaining squad ahead of their preparatory series against home side Australia.

But, Hetmyer once again missed the flight due to personal reasons. Thereafter, Windies Cricket left him out of the squad and called Shamarh Brooks as his replacement.

West Indies will play two T20Is against Australia on October 5 and 7, respectively. The men in maroon are placed in Group B, alongside Ireland, Scotland and Zimbabwe with the top two teams progressing to the Super 12s.
