KARACHI: Former flamboyant all-rounder Shahid Khan Afridi thinks that Shahnawaz Dahani deserves more chances.
In a recent interview on a local Tv channel, Afridi said team management should back Dahani as he has the potential to do wonders at international stage.
"Dahani is really a good prospect and he needs regular chances. Bad days come in players' career but benching him won't work," he said.
"Dahani is energetic and pulls the crowd. He needs to be backed by the team management. If they give Dahani more chances, he will get stronger," he added.
The right-arm pacer didn't have a good home T20I series against England. He conceded 170 in four matches at an average of 56.66 while taking just three wickets.
He also became the second most expensive Pakistani bowler after conceding 62 runs in third T20I of seven-match series in Karachi.
In 2021, Dahani rose to fame with his exceptional tournament-winning performance for Multan Sultans in Pakistan Super League (PSL).
