Pakistani mountaineer Asad Memon seeks support to climb Mount Everest

KARACHI: Pakistan's prominent mountaineer Asad Ali Memon appealed for sponsorship to climb the world's highest peak, Mount Everest. 

Speaking to GeoSuper.tv, Asad shared his plan to climb the world's highest mountain. 

"I aim to climb Mount Everest by March next year," Asad told this correspondent. 

"I know it's a tough task both mentally and financially. But, I am hopeful for a successful summit next year," he said. 

Asad, who belongs to interior Sindh, is the only Pakistani mountaineer to have climbed Africa's highest peak Kilimanjaro within a day. He also summitted Elbrus (Russia), Kala Pathar/EBC (Nepal), Aconcagua (Argentina), and Denali (USA). 

To a query about expenses required for his aim to summit Mount Everest, Asad shared a rough figure of PKR7 million. 

"The minimum expenses would be around PKR7 million. It includes permit, basecamp cost, climbing cost, high camping cost, high altitude porter cost and food. A total of 45 days package," he shared. 

Meanwhile, Asad has also asked people on social media to help him get sponsors. 

"It's official and finally happening. I am heading to World's highest peak Everest very soon. It's going to be historic. It's going to be once in a lifetime opportunity. It's for Pakistan. Sponsorship details: Email at [email protected]," he wrote on Twitter.
