KARACHI: Everton was given a £300,000 punishment for the two pitch invasions that occurred during their 19 May Premier League victory over Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.

In the second-to-last game of the season, the hosts rallied from a 2-0 deficit to maintain their Premier League status.

After the final whistle, supporters gathered on the field to celebrate Dominic Calvert-winning Lewin's goal.

The Football Association claimed that as the fans invaded the pitch, they engaged in "threatening and violent behaviour."

Everton acknowledged losing control of the crowd.

Earlier this month, Premier League teams announced that fans who engage in anti-social or criminal behaviour at top-tier venues would be prohibited from attending games at their club for at least a year.

Following the game, Palace manager Patrick Vieira was seen arguing with an Everton supporter as he walked to the away changing room.

The FA and Merseyside Police did not respond to the incident and spoke with both Vieira and the supporter.
