KARACHI: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)'s Director High-Performance Center, Nadeem Khan shared the reason behind not allowing Umar Akmal to use key facilities.
The cricketer had complained about not getting permission to train in the National High-Performance Center (NHPC).
To a query in this regard during a press conference here on Sunday, Khan said there is a set criteria for players to use PCB facilities.
"Players, who are on peak of their careers or rising talent, are allowed to train in the NHPC. Mostly, you will see young players in NHPC as we have very limited facilities there," the PCB official explained.
Meanwhile, Khan suggested Akmal to perform in domestic cricket. "No doubt, Umar has served Pakistan for a long time. His services can't be overlooked. He should perform in domestic cricket to get more facilities," he concluded.
Umar last played an international match in 2019. He represented Pakistan against Sri Lanka under the captaincy of Sarfaraz Ahmed. It was last series of Sarfaraz as captain.
