KARACHI: Pakistan's fiery pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi hit back at critics of his teammates Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan after their stellar performance against England here at the National Stadium Karachi.

Pakistan, on Thursday, beat England by 10 wickets, thanks to Babar's sensational century and Rizwan's blistering 88-run knock.

After the opening pair's dismal Asia Cup 2022 stint, fans criticised them for a bad strike rate. However, the two batters proved their worth against England on Thursday.

Taking to Twitter, Shaheen took a jibe at the critics of the Pakistan skipper and wicket-keeper batter.

"I think it is time to get rid of Kaptaan Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. Itne selfish players. Agar sahi se khelte to match 15 overs me finish hojana chahye tha. Ye akhri over tak le gaye. Let's make this a movement. Nahi?"

Shaheen also added that he is "absolutely" proud of the Green Shirts.

The opening pair Babar and Rizwan also became the most successful batting partners in T20Is surpassing India's Rohit Sharma and Shikhar.

The Indian pair had scored 1743 runs in a total of 52 innings as batting partners, Pakistan’s Babar and Rizwan surpassed them in the 36th inning as batting partners when they took Pakistan’s score to 18 runs in the 3rd over in the 2nd T20I against England.

Pakistan will lock horns with England in the third T20I here at the National Stadium Karachi on Friday (today).
