The transfer window officially closed on the 1st of September while the new season already kicked off two weeks earlier than that. Clubs were busy engaging in deals worth millions, to further strengthen their teams till the deadline day.

It was imminent for Barcelona to sign players that can provide them with the quality and rhythm they had been missing for these past years; the club not only managed to sign some star players but also managed the wage bill. The club announced the agreement with Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen before the end of the last season only.

They also signed young prospect Pablo Torre. The addition of Raphinha provided more depth to their attack. The club also managed to renew the contracts of Ousmane Dembele and Sergi Roberto while Jules Kounde arrived from Sevilla, filling the void in Barca’s defence.

The club loaned out Sergino Dest to AC Milan and also their talented young winger, Abde. A few months back Robert Lewandowski announced his decision to leave Bayern Munich. Despite the huge improbability surrounding the deal, the Polish striker did end up signing for Barcelona.

The new number 9 has already scored five goals for the club in the Spanish League. Marcos Alonso and Hector Bellerin are the latest players to have joined the club.

Paul Pogba made a return to the Allianz Arena after spending a couple of years at Manchester United. Juventus loaned out two of their midfielders Arthur Melo and recently acquainted Denis Zakaria. Chelsea spend enormously on bringing in players that could guarantee them titles.

The big names include Raheem Sterling, Koulibaly and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, who fulfilled a crucial role at Barcelona, helping Xavi’s side to secure the second position in the league last season.

Manchester City appeared on the surface again for having a successful and busy transfer window. The club signed Erling Halaand as a perfect number nine following the departure of Gabriel Jesus and strengthened their defence even more with the acquaintance of Borussia Dortmund’s defender, Manuel Akanji. Julian Alvarez became a citizen in the previous transfer window in December.

Manchester United managed to keep Ronaldo, after failing to qualify for the champions league this season. They also signed Carlos Casemiro from Real Madrid. The Brazilian’s departure was an absolute shock to the Madridistas, as the player had been vital for the team for years, winning fifteen major trophies with the club.

Anthony is the latest addition to Ten Hag’s plan in making the red devils strong, and the young winger already scored on his debut. The team has also signed Martin Dubravka as a backup goalkeeper on loan with an option to buy as well.

Kylian Mbappe had to stay in Paris only, at the end the rumours about his imminent arrival in Madrid dried out after the club also put him in an essential role in the club’s sporting project. However, Angel Di Maria left Paris for Juventus, after spending 7 years at the club, but the club signed the young Portuguese playmaker, Vitinha from Porto, after Gini Wijnaldum's departure.
