KARACHI: Pakistan will be supported at the upcoming final of the Asia cup 2022 against Sri Lanka by an India-Pakistan pair, who gained fame while cheering for their respective nations in the stadium during the recent Asian event.

While Abdullah, who resides in Dubai, is of Indian descent, Alishba is a citizen of Pakistan.

He could be seen cheering for India and Pakistan throughout the two intense matches between the tournament's archrivals.

Abdullah has chosen to support the Green Shirts in the final after India was eliminated from contention for the Asia Cup final following Pakistan's stunning victory against Afghanistan.

Talking to Geo News, Abdullah said that his ancestors belonged to India, hence, he will always support his country.

"I respect my wife's association with Pakistan and she has the liberty to support her team," he added.

Stressing the need for friendly relations between the two neighbouring countries, he asked if a couple from the countries can live in a home with love then why can’t the two nations?

His wife, Alishba said that he would continue to support her country in the future as well.
