BUDERIM: Pakistan veteran kicked off their Over 60's Cricket World Cup campaign in brilliant fashion as they secured a 23-run win in their opening encounter of the tournament here at Sunshine Coast.

Pakistan veterans defeated West Indies by 23 runs in their first match.

Pakistan scored 216 runs while batting first, thanks to Tahir Rashid and Babar Ali, who scored 58 and 38 runs, respectively.

The West Indies team scored 193 runs for 9 wickets in 45 overs and Pakistan's Babar Ali Basharat claimed two wickets.

It should be mentioned here that only players above 60 years of age participate in the Over 60 World Cup.
