KARACHI: Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar said that Indian skipper Rohit Sharma isn't enjoying captaincy and taking a lot of pressure, which is affecting his performance.
Talking on his official YouTube channel, Akhtar said: "I think Rohit Sharma is stuck as a captain. He doesn’t seem to be enjoying it, and he is taking a lot of pressure, so he is out of form," said Akhtar.
Rohit has struggled to find his rhythm in the Asia Cup 2022 so far, scoring 12 and 21 against Pakistan and Hong Kong, respectively.
Earlier, former Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez had remarked that it would be "tough" for Rohit to continue captaincy.
"I feel that it will be tough for Rohit to continue his captaincy. I don't think he can hold on for too long. I know this from experience that when you are a captain, there are several pressures on you," Hafeez said.
