DUBAI: Pakistani pacer Shahnawaz Dahani ruled out of match against India in T20 Asia Cup 2022 due to injury, Geo News reported.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), on Saturday, shared that Dahani suffered a side strain that ruled him out of the match. The right-arm pacer will remain under the supervision of PCB's medical team for the next 48-72 hours.

Meanwhile, Dahani will also undergo a scan for further identification of his injury's intensity.

Dahani, who went wicketless against India last Sunday and took a wicket against Hong Kong on Friday, is likely to be replaced by experienced bowler Hassan Ali for another game against arch-rivals on September 4.

Hassan received a call for the national team after Mohammad Wasim Jr got injured last week. Wasim Jr suffered a back injury and was ruled out of the Asian event.

Pakistan's premium fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi also missed the tournament due to a knee injury.

On Friday, India also suffered another blow as Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of T20 Asia Cup 2022 due to an injury.
