PCB to announce squad for England series after Asia Cup: sources

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will announce the squad for the series against England after the ongoing Asia Cup 2022, sources said Friday.

The grand final of the T20 Asia Cup is scheduled to take place in Dubai on 11 September.

Details indicate the final decision on the announcement of the squad for the ICC T20 World Cup has not been made and consultation is ongoing by the Selection Committee regarding the announcement of the squad for the mega event.

According to sources, the T20 World Cup team will be revealed during the final leg of the home series against England. If an announcement is made during the series, the PCB will ask the International Cricket Council (ICC) to extend the deadline for squad announcement.

However, the board will not announce the squad for the England series and the World Cup together.
