ISLAMABAD: President of Pakistan, Dr Arif Alvi mourned the loss of hockey legend Manzoor Hussain Jr.
Olympian Maznoor, 63, passed away on Monday after suffering a cardiac arrest. The hockey Olympian was taken to the hospital after a heart attack.
"Manzoor made Pakistan proud and his demise is really painful for us as a nation," Alvi said. "In this tough time, we are with the family of our national hero and pray for patience," he added.
It is worth mentioning here that Manzoor captained the national team and won the goal medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
He was also part of the winning national hockey team of 1978 and 1982. He is still recognized by the hockey world as the hero of the 1982 World Cup Final.
