Asia Cup 2022: Mohammad Wasim Jr's future will be decided today

LAHORE: Mohammad Wasim Jr underwent an MRI on Thursday after he suffered severe back pain while training. 

Sources told Geo News that Pakistan team management decided to get Wasim's MRI done as a precautionary measure after Shaheen Afridi was ruled out of T20 Asia Cup due to a knee injury. 

The MRI report of Wasim's back will be received by evening today after which the management will decide the pacer's future in the Asian event. 

Shaheen's ouster due to injury dented Pakistan's camp ahead of the continental event. The left-arm star pacer is accompanying the team in Dubai where he is undergoing rehabilitation. 

Pakistan will take on India in their opening match of the T20 Asia Cup 2022 on August 28.
