PSB chief welcomes CWG 2022 medalists on their return

'I have come to airport to receive our heroes and boost their confidence,' says Asif Zaman

KARACHI: Pakistan Sports Board (PSB)’s Director General, Colonel Asif Zaman reached Islamabad Airport to receive Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2022 medalists.

Silver medalists Zaman Anwar (Wrestler), Mohammad Sharif Tahir (Wrestler) and Bronze medalist Asad Ali (Wrestler) reached Islamabad after participating in CWG in Birmingham. The three wrestlers were welcomed by PSB chief on the airport.

"I have come here to welcome our heroes and boost their confidence," said Zaman. "PSB will keep on supporting the athletes. I will also come to welcome our gold medalists Arshad Nadeem and Nooh Dastagir Butt and other athletes who are currently participating in Islamic Games," he added. 

Pakistan won eight medals including two golds in CWG 2022. Arshad (Javelin Throw) and Nooh (Weightlifting) won Gold medals, Inam Butt (Wrestling), Zaman (Wrestling) and Sharif (Wrestling) bagged Silver medals, whereas Inayatullah (Wrestler) and Hussain Shah (Judo) got their hands on Bronze medals.
