Huge setback for India before T20 Asia Cup 2022

KARACHI: India's frontline pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of Asia Cup 2022 due to back injury, claimed Indian media. 

Indian media, citing sources, claimed that Bumrah will be out of India's squad for the all-important Asia Cup, scheduled from August 27 to September 11 in the UAE. 

After Harshal Patel, Bumrah failed to recover from an injury and is likely to miss the Asian event.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul are set to return while Dinesh Karthik, who had a few poor scores ahead of the selection, is expected to retain his place in the squad. R Ashwin too is set to be picked for the multi-team Asian event.

Squads for the Asian event will be disclosed in due course.
