Prabath Jayasuriya bags ICC Player of Month award
Prabath Jayasuriya claimed four five-wicket hauls in only three Test matches he has played since his debut.
DUBAI: Sri Lanka's new spin sensation, Prabath Jayasuriya bagged ICC Player of the month (July) award for his back-to-back performances in Test cricket.
Prabath, who just made his Test debut this year in July, was named best player of the month following his match-winning performances against Australia and Pakistan.
Jayasuriya registered figures of 6/118 and 6/59 as Sri Lanka roared back against Australia in Galle to level the two-match Test series in July. His exploits helped the hosts beat the visitors by an innings and 39 runs.
Later on the same month, Jayasuriya took 17 wickets to help Sri Lanka dominate against Pakistan at home in two-match Test series that held 1-1 draw.
