BIRMINGHAM: Pakistan's Olympian Javelin Thrower and Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2022 gold medalist Arshad Nadeem got the most prominent reward for his historic performance on Sunday. 

In a video message, Arshad shared that International Olympic Committee (IOC) has awarded him a scholarship for preparations to participate in Paris Olympics 2024. 

"I am honored for being awarded a scholarship by International Olympic Committee which will help me prepare for Paris Olympics 2024," Arshad disclosed. 

"On this occasion, I would like to thank Pakistan Olympic Association, Pakistan Sports Board, and Pakistan Athletics Federation for their efforts to arrange this scholarship for me," added Arshad who finished fifth in Tokyo Olympics 2020.

On Sunday, Arshad made the whole Pakistan proud with record-breaking performance. Arshad, a 25-years-old Javelin Thrower, not only improved his personal best record but also created the CWG record by throwing at a distance of 90.18m.
