LOS CABOS: British No. 1 Cameron Norrie defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-4 3-6 6-3 to get to the Los Cabos Open final in Mexico.

Norrie will next compete against world number one Daniil Medvedev who beat Serbia's Miomir Kecmanovic.

Compared to his Canadian opponent, who had 17 aces to Norrie's two, it was Norrie's first victory over the Canadian.

"Felix has got me the last four times, so going into it I really wanted to win that one," Norrie said.

"Previous times I had match points, so I was thinking about that in the back of my mind. It's never easy."

Medvedev hasn't competed since sustaining an injury in June. Wimbledon also placed a ban on Russian players.

But after defeating Kecmanovic 7-6 (7-0) 6-1, he will be competing in his fourth final of the year.

He will therefore enter the US Open this month, where he is the defending men's singles winner, confident of holding the top spot in the world.
