BIRMINGHAM: Pakistan faced defeat against New Zealand by 4-1 in their second match of hockey event in the Commonwealth Games 2022.
After a 0-0 score in the first quarter of the match, the second quarter saw three goals as South Africa's Hugo Inglis scored two goals, helping his side get a two-goal lead.
Pakistan's Ghazanfar Ali scored a goal to put Pakistan back in the game, but Dylan Thomas regained the two-goal for his team in the third quarter.
In the last quarter, Sam Lone scored and extended New Zealand's lead, making the score 4-1.
On Saturday, the Pakistan hockey team drew their opening match 2-2 against South Africa.
Pakistan will next clash with Scotland in their third match of the Commonwealth Games 2022 on 3rd August.
