LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)'s chairman Ramiz Raja raised concerns over running cricket like football.
As quoted by a local media, Raja predicted downfall of cricket if nations continue treating cricket like football.
"There are people who try to run cricket like football. Many nations are already doing it. They will soon realise what they have done when they complete the calendar," he was quoted saying.
Football, throughout the year, mostly played in franchise tournaments. Gradually, cricket is also tuning more into franchise format.
Reportedly, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) successfully reserved two and a half month free window for Indian Premier League (IPL) every year in next Future Tours Program (FTP) 2023-27.
Moreover, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Cricket Australia (CA) will also have separate windows for hosting their franchise T20 tournaments respectively during next FTP.
