LAHORE: Pakistan hockey team's manager Khawaja Junaid has resigned from his post, Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF)'s secretary Asif Bajwa shared on Tuesday. 

In a press conference here today, Bajwa said Junaid already told us that he wanted to do an on-ground job. 

"Junaid had already discussed his reservations on manager post with us. He asked us to give him some groundwork," Bajwa said. 

"After Asia Cup, we allowed Junaid to resign from his post. He will not be the team's manager in Commonwealth Games," the secretary disclosed. 

Talking about the Asia Cup blunder by the team management, Bajwa said it was a human error. "I believe it was a human error," said Bajwa despite knowing the fact that this blunder cost Pakistan Hockey World Cup 2023 spot. 

"Head coach also accepted the mistake. An inquiry committee is investigating this matter. So, let's wait for its results," he added. 

Bajwa also addressed players' daily wages issue. "We have solved the daily wages issue. We have cleared daily wages for the Asia Cup, hopefully, daily wages for the Europe tour will be paid to the players soon," he concluded.
