Eoin Morgan is likely to announce retirement from international cricket tomorrow

LONDON: England's white-ball skipper Eoin Morgan has decided to not only leave captaincy but also hang up his boots from international cricket, international media reported. 

According to reports, Morgan, following his poor form and back-to-back injuries, was under pressure related to his future. 

Reportedly, England's World Cup 2019-winning captain is expected to leave captaincy and announce retirement from international cricket on June 28. 

Morgan's teammate Moeen Ali told BBC's Test Match Special that the captain is done with the international cricket.

"He obviously feels like he's done with international cricket," the all-rounder was quoted saying. "The team for him still comes first, which just shows how unselfish he is. He's done a remarkable job and he's the best we've ever had, for sure," he added. 

Meanwhile, reports also stated that Morgan's deputy Jos Buttler will take up his role in white-ball cricket. 

Morgan was appointed as captain in 2014 and has played an important role in England's white-ball cricket revolution. The left-handed batter led England to their maiden World Cup title in 2019.
