KARACHI: Jorge Masvidal said on Monday that he wants to break Conor McGregor's face as the Irish UFC star will be making his return from injury soon.

McGregor has been out since breaking his tibia against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 last July. 11 months have gone since the fight, and although McGregor can now kick with his damaged leg, he still has doubts about continuing to compete this year.

McGregor and Masvidal have recently engaged in verbal sparring, with the former calling "Gamebred" a "pigeon brain." Masvidal responded to the insult by claiming that McGregor was too "scared" to agree to a fight with him.

"I think November or December is looking good for me," Masvidal said on the Blockasset YouTube channel.

"I just want to break Conor’s face. Let’s get that paycheck, let’s get that out of the way, sell the most pay-per-views ever before this guy harms himself or somebody else. And I just like "boom," get that check real quick 'cause I got kids, right? I need the f***king money." he added.

If Masvidal is unable to get a bout with McGregor, he has turned to Gilbert Burns as a backup opponent. Burns took Khamzat Chimaev to the limit for the first time in his career in one of the best fights of the year against him at UFC 273 in April.
