Mueed Baloch departs for Kazakhstan to participate in World Continental Championship

LAHORE: National sprinter Mueed Baloch has departed for Kazakhstan to participate in World Continental Championship, scheduled on June 25. 

According to the details, Baloch has left for Kazakhstan with Pakistan's contingent to participate in the world event. 

The sprinter will participate in 200m and 400m races in the event. 

Baloch, who bagged a Silver and Bronze medal in Iran's Imam Reza Cup last month, expressed high hopes for this tournament. Speaking to Geo Super before his departure, Baloch said he will try to once again raise the flag of Pakistan high. 

"It's a good opportunity for me to represent Pakistan in an international event. In Iran, I bagged two medals, this time, I aim to improve," he said. 

"I need support and confidence for this event. People should follow my race and pray for me," he added. 

Olympian javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem came to meet Baloch at airport and posed for a picture with him.
