KARACHI: Sean O'Malley, one of the UFC's brightest prospects at bantamweight, thinks a bout between Charles Oliveira and Khabib Nurmagomedov, who both retained their titles, would have been a spectacular one.
During his famous UFC career, Khabib never dropped a round, but O'Malley feels he would have struggled against Oliveira.
Speaking to MMAFighting, he said: "That’s the one interesting fight that I would like to see if Khabib came back in the division. It would be Charles. Everyone else I think Khabib kind of mauls.
"I think Charles is the only one that can really give Khabib problems and, who knows, maybe that’s why Khabib stepped away. Maybe he saw, ‘I don’t want that guy.’ Who knows, but yeah, that’s one fight that I would be interested in seeing Khabib come back for. It would be a massive fight."
Oliveira is the champion in every way except name going into his next bout, which will be his fourth in a row for the title. He easily submitted Gaethje in their May 14 meeting, but because of his weight issue, he did not leave as champion.
