KARACHI: Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling this summer.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea are convinced that they will be able to finalise the signing of the winger this summer.

The player's contract at the Etihad Stadium has only one year left on it, thus a cost of approximately £35 million is expected.

Sterling's future at Manchester City is uncertain as he enters the final year of his contract.

Chelsea feels they can persuade the 27-year-old to stay in the Premier League despite interest from top teams abroad.

The fact that the Blues are in the Champions League is obviously appealing to the London-born star.

Sterling scored 13 goals in 30 Premier League appearances as he won his fourth title last term.

However, he was benched by Pep Guardiola in both legs of Real Madrid's Champions League semi-final defeat and the thrilling season-ending match against Aston Villa.

Sterling did help launch that epic last-day comeback by setting up Ilkay Gundogan's key first goal as Pep Guardiola's team battled back from a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2 and clinch the Premier League title.
