LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Khalid Mahmood met on Sunday to discuss the appointment of a new chairman of the sports governing body, sources told Geo Super.

According to the details, the meeting covered bureaucratic and cricket concerns in depth, including the appointment of a new PCB chairman. However, the premier made no indication of immediate change in the board.

The prime minister and Mahmood discussed different names, including Najam Sethi, Zaka Ashraf, and Mahmood himself, for the role of the next chairman of the national cricket governing body, sources added.

However, Shehbaz hinted that there are far more important issues, and the time is not right to make a change in the PCB.

Following Imran Khan's removal from the office, there were reports that the cricket board's chairman, Ramiz Raja, would be dismissed from his position due to the change of government.
