KARACHI: Costa Rica defeated New Zealand for the final spot in the 2022 World Cup, which will be held in Qatar before the end of the year.

Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has announced the groups for the upcoming World Cup, scheduled to kick off in November.

Senegal will face the Netherlands in Group A at the Al Thumama Stadium in the opening fixture of the FIFA World Cup 2022 on 21 November, followed by hosts Qatar versus Ecuador at the Al Bayt Stadium.

Among the eight groups, Group E seems to be the toughest of them all, as it consists of two World Champions, Germany and Spain, along with Japan and Costa Rica.

Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, Germany, The Netherlands, Uruguay, Croatia, Denmark, Mexico, the United States, Senegal, Wales, Poland, Australia, Japan, Morocco, Switzerland, Ghana, Korea Republic, Cameroon, Serbia, Canada, Costa Rica, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Ecuador.
