KARACHI: Khamzat Chimaev, a UFC welterweight contender, wants to fight both Nate Diaz and Belal Muhammad in the same year.
The Swede may even seek to fight on the undercard of that event, asking that he wants to fight Diaz, a fan favourite, in August before facing Muhammad, the No. 5 contender, just over two months later.
Chimaev and Muhammad have already committed to fighting at UFC 281 in Abu Dhabi on October 22, but he wants to squeeze in one more bout in the meantime.
"I want to fight in August, I'm ready Nate Diaz, let's do it, skinny boy," Chimaev said in a tweet yesterday that tagged the UFC and boss Dana White.
He then posted that he plans to fight Diaz in August and Muhammad in October.
Chimaev is the promotion's number three welterweight contender and the highest-ranked fighter who has yet to be defeated by champion Kamaru Usman.
However, he will have to wait his turn to fight for the title, as Leon Edwards will face the Nigerian for the world title on August 20.
